Rube Goldberg (1916)

Reuben Garret L. Goldberg (4 Juli 1883 - 7 Desember 1970) adalah kartunis Amerika Serikat yang terkenal karena mesin Rube Goldberg, alat rumit yang dibuat untuk mengerjakan tugas sederhana. Ia diberi penghargaan kunci emas National Cartoonist Society pada 1980 setelah meninggal.

Goldberg bersekolah di Lowell High School di San Francisco pada 1900 dan mendapat gelar teknik dari University of California, Berkeley pada 1904. Setelah lulus kuliah, ia bekerja untuk pemerintah San Francisco. Namun setelah beberapa bulan ia keluar dan bekerja sebagai kartunis di San Francisco Chronicle. Tahun berikutnya, ia pindah ke San Francisco Bulletin, di mana ia bekerja sampai pindah ke New York City pada 1907.
