Rudolph Dirks (26 Februari 1877 – 20 April 1968) adalah kartunis pertama yang paling terkenal sepanjang masa.
Ia terlahir di Heide, German putra dari pasangan Johannes and Margaretha Dirks. Ketika berusia tujuh tahun, ayahnya, seorang tukang kayu, memindahkan keluarganya ke Chicago, Illinois. Kakak tertuanya, Gus Dirks, pindah ke New York dan menemukan pekerjaan sebagai kartunis.
