2010: SM The Ballad Vol. 1

Grup ini beranggotakan empat orang ketika debut, yaitu Kyuhyun dari boy band Super Junior, Jonghyun dari SHINee, Jay dari TRAX, dan Jino yang merupakan artis baru dari SMent. Mini album pertama mereka dirilis pada 29 November 2010.

2014: SM The Ballad Vol. 2

Pada tahun 2014, grup ini mengalami perubahan member. Yang tersisa dari Vol. 1 hanya Jonghyun SHINee. Kyuhyun Super Junior digantikan rekannya, Yesung dan Zhoumi. Selain itu, ada pula TVXQ MAX Changmin, Chen EXO, Taeyeon SNSD, Krystal f(x), Zhang Liyin untuk Vol. 2.
