Salò adalah komune di Provinsi Brescia, Lombardia, Italia.
Geografi
Salò berada di bantaran kiri Danau Garda, yang di situ terdapat pantai dan pelabuhan. Di utara Salò terdapat taman alam setempat bernama Alto Garda Bresciano. Di selatannya terdapat timbunan miring yang banyak dimanfaatkan untuk pertanian.
Sejarah
Salò didirikan dengan nama Pagus Salodium oleh bangsa Romawi. Pada tahun 1337, Salodium menjadi ibu kota daerah otonom Magnifica Patria, di mana bantaran barat danau dan Valle Sabbia membentuk bagian Republik Venesia.
Antara bulan Oktober 1943 hingga April 1945, Salò dijadikan ibu kota Republik Salò oleh Benito Mussolini. Film Salo o le 120 giornate di Sodoma besutan Pier Paolo Pasolini dinamai menurut masa tersebut.
