Sartan

Sartan, Zartan, Zaretan atau Zarethan (bahasa Ibrani: צָרְתָן‎), juga disebut sebagai Zeredathah, adalah sebuah kota yang disebutkan dalam Perjanjian Lama di dekat lokasi tempat bangsa Israel melintasi Sungai Yordan (Yosua 3:16). Dalam Kitab Yosua (Yosua 3:16, "Zaretan") dan 1 Raja-Raja (1 Raja–Raja 4:12, "Zartanah"; 1 Raja–Raja 7:46, "Zarthan"), tempat tersebut disebut Zarethan. Namun, dalam 2 Tawarikh, kota tersebut disebut Zeredathah (2 Tawarikh 4:17).

Zaredathah berada di Lembah Yordan.[1] Nelson Glueck berpendapat bahwa tempat tersebut berada di tepi timur dari sungai tersebut, mengaitkannya dengan Tell es-Sa'idiyeh [de]. Namun, beberapa penulis terkini menempatkannya pada Tepi Barat. Sebuah teori mengidentifikasikannya dengan Tell el-Mazar, juga disebut Mezar, di Wadi Far'a.[2] Tell el-Mezar berada di tempat yang disebut dalam bahasa Arab sebagai Qerawa, yang dikenal dari zaman kuno dengan nama Korea(i) (κορεα[ι]) atau Koreous (Kορεους) dan terletak di kaki Gunung Sartabe.[3]
