Satellite Catalog Number
Satellite Catalog Number (disebut juga NORAD Catalog Number, NASA catalog number, USSPACECOM object number, atau Catalog number saja dan variasinya) adalah nomor pengenal 5 digit berurutan yang diberikan USSTRATCOM kepada semua satelit yang mengorbit Bumi agar mudah diidentifikasi. Sebelum USSTRATCOM, katalog nomornya diurus oleh NORAD. Benda yang pertama dicatat dengan nomor katalog 00001 adalah roket tahap akhir yang meluncurkan Sputnik 1.
Objek yang gagal mecapai orbit atau berukuran lebih kecil dari 10 cm tidak didaftarkan ke dalam katalog.[1][1] Per 23 Juni 2019, NSSDC Master Catalog mencatat 44.336 objek termasuk 8.558 satelit yang telah diluncurkan ke orbit sejak 1957.[2] Sebanyak 17.480 objek masih aktif dilacak, sementara 1355 hilang dari lacakan. ESA memprediksi bahwa terdapat sekitar 34.000 objek yang mampu dilacak oleh USSTRATCOM hingga Januari 2019.[3]
