Sesar Mentawai
Sesar Mentawai merupakan Sesar naik aktif yang terletak di barat Pulau Sumatra yang berjarak sekitar 150 km dari pantainya dan membentang dari pulau Nias di utara dan pulau-pulau Mentawai di selatan.[1] Sesar Mentawai terletak hampir sekurang-kurangnya 150 km dari zona Subduksi Lempeng Indo-Australia ke Eurasia. Magnitudo gempa yang bisa diakibatkan diperkirakkan antara 5 hingga 8 SR sehingga dapat berpotensi tsunami karena sesar tersebut merupakan Sesar Laut.[2]
