Shabani (gorila)
Shabani (lahir 20 Oktober 1996) adalah gorila dataran rendah barat jantan, lahir di Taman Primata Apenheul di Belanda, dibesarkan di Australia dan saat ini tinggal di Kebun Binatang Higashiyama di Nagoya, Jepang.[1] Ia mendapatkan kepopuleran pada tahun 2007 di Kebun Binatang Higashiyama ketika ia berusia 10 tahun dengan berjalan di atas tali.[2]
Shabani menjadi subjek perhatian media lebih lanjut pada tahun 2015, digambarkan sebagai "tampan", "seksi", "fotogenik",[3] dan "metroseksual".[4] Hal ini memicu liputan berita yang signifikan,[5][6][7] serta kemunculannya dalam pemutaran perdana musim kedua serial TV Not Safe with Nikki Glaser.
Kepopulerannya menyebabkan peningkatan jumlah pengunjung gadis ke kebun binatang tempatnya berada.[8][9] Shabani juga menjadi subjek film DVD,[10] dan menjadi maskot untuk merek permen.[11] Ia juga digunakan dalam kampanye perekrutan pekerja oleh kota Nagoya pada bulan Januari 2016.[12][13]
