Shomin-geki

Shomin-geki (庶民劇), artinya drama rakyat jelata, adalah sebuah kata pseudo-Jepang yang diciptakan oleh para cendekiawan film Barat.[1] Kata tersebut dipakai untuk menyebut genre film realis Jepang yang berfokus pada kehidupan sehari-hari rakyat jelata. Dalam bahasa Jepang, kata yang benar untuk genre tersebut adalah shōshimin-eiga (小市民 映画, artinya film petit-bourgeois atau film kelas menengah ke bawah).[1]
