Solusi berbasis alam

Solusi berbasis alam (nature-based solutions atau nature-based systems, NBS atau NbS) mendeskripsikan perkembangan dan penggunaan alam (keanekaragaman hayati) dan proses-proses alami untuk menangani beragam masalah lingkungan dan masalah sosial.[1] Isu-isu tersebut dapat mencakup mitigasi dan adaptasi perubahan iklim, isu-isu keamanan manusia seperti keamanan air dan keamanan makanan, serta mitigasi bencana.[2] Tujuan dari hal ini adalah ekosistem yang tangguh (baik alami, dikelola maupun dibuat oleh manusia) memberi solusi untuk kebaikan baik masyarakat dan keanekaragaman hayati.[3] 2019 UN Climate Action Summit menyorot solusi berbasis alam sebagai sebuah metode efektif untuk menangkal perubahan iklim.[4] Contohnya, solusi berbassi alam untuk adaptasi perubahan iklim dapat mencakup pengendalian banjir alami, mengelola wilayah pesisir dan memberi pendinginan lokal.[5]: 310
