Soulsonic Force (juga dikenal sebagai Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force) adalah ansambel hip hop dan electro-funk yang dipimpin oleh Afrika Bambaataa yang membantu membuat musik hip-hop pada awal tahun 1980-an dengan beberapa lagunya, seperti "Planet Rock". Mereka juga dikenal sebagai 'pencetus' munculnya musik elektro di Amerika dan membantu dalam berkembangnya musik dansa modern seperti seperti electro-funk dan juga Miami bass.
Pada tahun 1982, Soulsonic Force dan Afrika Bambaataa merilis singel "Planet Rock". Lagu ini membawa gaya musik dari Germa electro-pop, British rock dan African-American disco rap. Seluruh genre tersebut disatukan; dan dengan itu, mereka menyuguhkan hip hop sebagai musik terobosan baru. Lagu itu spontan menjadi lagu yang sangat populer dan 'mengguncang' daftar lagu-lagu populer diseluruh dunia.[1]
Lagu-lagu mereka yang paling dikenal antara lain: "Planet Rock", "Looking for the Perfect Beat" dan "Renegades of Funk" (yang merupakan lagu rap generasi awal yang membahas politik).
