Sungai Essequibo
Sungai Essequibo adalah sungai terpanjang di Guyana. Sungai ini mengalir ke utara sepanjang 1000 km melewati hutan dan sabana ke Samudra Atlantik. Sungai ini memasuki Atlantik 21 km dari kota Georgetown, ibu kota Guyana.
Essequibo juga merupakan nama besar koloni Belanda yang didirikan tahun 1616 dan terletak di wilayah Sungai Essequibo dan nantinya menjadi bagian dari Guiana Britania.
