Film yang disutradarai oleh Richard Lester ini pemainnya antara lain ialah Gene Hackman, Christopher Reeve, Sarah Douglas, Margot Kidder, Jack O'Halloran, Terence Stamp dan masih banyak lagi. Superman II dirilis pada Desember 1980. Film ini dikenal karena produksinya yang kontroversial, di mana sutradara asli film ini, Richard Donner digantikan oleh Richard Lester oleh produser.
