Takur besar (Psilopogon virens) adalah spesies takur dalam famili Megalaimidae. Spesies ini terdapat di anak benua India dan Asia Tenggara, tempat mereka mendiami hutan pada ketinggian sehingga 3.000 m (9.800 ft). Spesies ini dinilai sebagai Risiko Rendah dalam Daftar Merah IUCN sejak 2004 kerana sebarannya yang meluas.[1]

Takur besar mempunyai kepala biru, paruh kuning besar, badan dan perut cokelat dan bergaris hijau, dan buntut merah. Bulunya hijau. Spesies ini adalah spesies takur terbesar dengan panjang badan 32–35 cm (13–14 in) dan berat 192–295 g (6,8–10,4 oz).[2][3]

Burung ini adalah pembiak menetap di ketinggian rendah hingga sedang Himalaya, membentangi utara India, Nepal dan Bhutan, Bangladesh, dan sebagianAsia Tenggara, sejauh Laos.[4][5]
