James Francis Gunn Jr.(lahir 5 Agustus 1966) adalah pembuat film, aktor, pembuat novel dan musisi asal Amerika Serikat. Dia memulai kariernya sebagai penulis alur cerita film pada pertengahan 1990, menuliskan skrip untuk film Tromeo and Juliet(1996), The Specials (2000), Scobby-Doo (2002) dan sekuelnya Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004), dan versi tahun 2004 dari film Dawn of the Dead. Dia kemudian mulai bekerja sebagai direktur film, diawali dengan film horor-komedi Slither (2006). Dia kemudian menulis dan memproduksi seri web James Gunn's PG Porn (2008-2009), film superhero Super (2010) dan film Guardians of the Galaxy, bagian dalam Marvel Cinematic Universe, dan sekuelnya, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
