Televisi di Filipina

Televisi di Filipina diperkenalkan pada bulan Oktober 1953 melalui siaran komersial pertama yang dibuat oleh Alto Broadcasting System (sekarang ABS-CBN), menjadikan Filipina negara Asia Tenggara pertama dan kedua di Asia yang melakukannya. Bahkan sebelum itu, pada akhir tahun 1940-an, beberapa eksperimen akademis telah dilakukan dan direplikasi oleh para insinyur dan mahasiswa di Filipina.

Dari tahun 1975 sampai 1978, Penghargaan Sinag diberikan oleh Akademi Seni dan Sains Televisi Filipina (PATAS).[1][2] Penghargaan Bintang untuk Televisi adalah penghargaan televisi tertua di negara ini; film-film tersebut dibagikan setiap tahun oleh Klub Pers Film Filipina dan dipilih oleh pers.

Filipina tidak memiliki jaringan televisi penyiaran publik.[3][4] Namun, ada beberapa stasiun yang milik pemerintah.
