Tenualosa adalah sebuah genus ikan dalam famili Dorosomatidae.[1][2][3] Ketika famili dorosomatidae belum dinaikan menjadi famili, genus ini ditempatkan dalam subfamili Alosinae (sekarang dinaikan menjadi Alosidae)[3] atau Dorosotinae.[2]
