Teretosporea klad Holozoa yang sedang diusulkan yang berisikan Ichthyosporea dan Corallochytrium muncul bersama Filozoa sebagai klad yang berhubungan. Karena dekat dengan perbedaan antara garis keturunan utama Fungi dan hewan, studi tentang Teretosporea dapat memberikan informasi penting tentang bentuk kehidupan yang berbeda dari kelompok-kelompok ini.[1]
Dengan dimasukkannya syssomonas tetap ada sedikit dukungan untuk Teretosporea, dan Corralychtrium tampaknya lebih diturunkan Holozoa. Filogeni alternatif adalah hipotesis Pluriformea.[2]
