Thae Hyong-chol adalah seorang politikus dan profesor universitas Republik Rakyat Demokratik Korea. Ia merupakan Presiden Akademi Ilmu Sosial dan kandidat untuk Biro Politik Komite Pusat Partai Buruh Korea. Sejak konvokasi ke-12 Majelis Rakyat Tertinggi, ia menjabat sebagai Wakil Presiden Presidium. Ia juga menjabat sebagai Presiden Universitas Kim Il-sung, dan Menteri Perguruan Tinggi dalam Kabinet Korea Utara. Ia adalah putra dari jenderal Korea Utara Thae Byong-ryol.[1]
