Theodor Fontane (pelafalan dalam bahasa Jerman: [ˈtʰeːodoɐ̯ fɔnˈtaːnə] ⓘ; 30 Desember 1819 – 20 September 1898) adalah seorang novelis dan penyair Jerman, yang dianggap oleh banyak orang sebagai pengarang realis berbahasa Jerman abad ke-19 paling berpengaruh. Ia menulis novel pertamanya, yang membuatnya terkenal pada saat itu, baru dalam usia 58 tahun setelah berkarier sebagai wartawan.
