Kehidupan dan karier

Thomas Edmund Perry lahir di Tonawanda, New York pada 7 Agustus 1947.[1] Ia meraih gelar B.A. dari Cornell University pada 1969 dan gelar Ph.D. dalam Sastra Inggris dari University of Rochester pada 1974.[1] Ia pernah bekerja sebagai buruh, petugas pemeliharaan, nelayan komersial, mekanik senjata, administrator universitas, dan pengajar, serta penulis dan produser televisi (Simon & Simon, 21 Jump Street, Star Trek: The Next Generation). Hingga Desember 2024, Perry telah menerbitkan 31 novel.

Perry tinggal di California Selatan bersama istrinya, penulis Jo (née Lee).[2] Pasangan ini menikah pada 1980 dan memiliki dua anak.[1] Ia meninggal akibat diseksi aorta di sebuah rumah sakit di Los Angeles pada 15 September 2025, pada usia 78 tahun.[1][3][4]

Karya

Karya Perry mencakup berbagai fiksi suspense, dimulai dengan The Butcher's Boy, yang menerima Edgar Award tahun 1983 dari Mystery Writers of America untuk Novel Pertama Terbaik,[1] diikuti oleh Metzger's Dog, Big Fish, Island, dan Sleeping Dogs.
