Tmesipteris elongata adalah paku yang endemik di tenggara Australia dan Selandia Baru. Sering ditemukan tumbuh pada paku pohon lunak di lembah yang lembap.[1] Tumbuhan ini pertama kali dideskripsikan oleh Pierre Augustin Dangeard pada tahun 1891.[1] Di Victoria, Australia, tumbuhan ini dianggap terancam punah secara kritis.[2]
