Tytthostonyx is a genus of prehistoric seabird. Found in the much-debated Hornerstown Formation which straddles the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary 65 million years ago, this animal was apparently closely related to the ancestor of some modern birds, such as Procellariiformes and/or "Pelecaniformes". A single species is placed herein, Tytthostonyx glauconiticus.[1]
Tytthostonyx adalah genus dari prehistoric burung laut. Ditemukan di Formasi Hornerstown yang banyak diperdebatkan, yang melintasi batas Cretaceous-Paleogen 65 juta tahun lalu, hewan ini dianggap memiliki kekerabatan yang dekat dengan beberapa burung modern seperti Procellariiformes serta "Pelecaniformes". Satu-satunya [[spesies yang ditempatkan pada genus ini adalah Tytthostonyx glauconiticus.[1]
Burung ini telah dimasukkan dalam keluarga Tytthostonygidae.[1]
