Urocyon (Greek: "anjing berekor"[7]) adalah sebuah genus dalam famili Canidae yang mencakup rubah kelabu (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) dan rubah pulau (Urocyon littoralis). Kedua spesies rubah ini ditemukan di belahan Bumi barat. Pengurutan keseluruhan genom mengindikasikan bahwa genus ini menjadi genus paling basal di antara canid-canid hidup lainnya. Fosil-fosil dari apa yang diyakini sebagai leluhur rubah kelabu, Urocyon progressus, telah ditemukan di Kansas dan berasal dari kala Pliosen akhir, dengan beberapa spesimen yang belum dideskripsikan berasal dari masa-masa yang lebih tua.
