Viola wikipedia merupakan sebuah spesies tanaman berbunga dalam genus Viola, dan dinamai pada tahun 2019 dari nama Wikipedia[1] oleh suami-istri[2] yang merupakan satu tim ahli tumbuhan, John Michael Watson dan Ana Rosa Flores.[1]
Spesies ini merupakan spesies endemik wilayah Santiago, Chili,[1] dan hanya dikenali dari sebuah contoh yang diambil pada Januari 1855[1][3] yang digambarkan oleh Rodolfo Amando Philippi pada tahun 1857 dengan homonim tidak sah dari Viola angustifolia,[1][3] seperti yang dinyatakan oleh International Plant Name Index mengatakan bahwa spesies ini bukanlah spesies baru.[4]
Viola wikipedia erat kaitannya dengan V. acanthophylla, V. bustillosia, dan V. cheeseana; spesies terakhir digambarkan dalam artikel yang sama.[1]
