Pada awal Desember 2020, sebuah penyakit idiopatik timbul di Eluru, sebuah kota yang terletak di negara bagian selatan India, Andhra Pradesh. Kasus pertama dilaporkan pada Sabtu, 5 Desember 2020, dengan lebih dari lima ratus orang jatuh sakit sepanjang pekan berikutnya dan satu orang meninggal. Sebabnya tidak diketahui.
