Washington Crossing the Delaware adalah sebuah lukisan yang dibuat oleh Emanuel Leutze. Lukisan ini memperlihatkan kondisi George Washington ketika sedang mengibarkan bendera Amerika Serikat di atas perahu di Sungai Delaware yang dipenuhi oleh es. Kontroversi timbul dalam lukisan ini karena menampilkan bendera Amerika Serikat yang berbentuk garis dan bintang. Bendera ini baru disahkan pada tanggal 4 Juni 1777 oleh Kongres Amerika Serikat. Sebelum itu, bendera ini belum pernah digunakan pada masa kemerdekaan Amerika Serikat. Lukisan ini memberikan kesan patriotisme dan anakronisme pada karya-karya Emanuel Leutze.[1]
