William Butler Yeats (/[invalid input: 'icon']ˈjeɪts/; 13 Juni 1865 – 28 Januari 1939) adalah seorang penyair dan dramawan Irlandia, dan salah satu figur terkemuka dalam kesusastraan abad ke-20. Dia merupakan kekuatan penggerak di balik kebangkitan kesusastraan Irlandia. Bersama-sama Lady Gregory, Edward Martyn, dan lainnya, Yeats mendirikan Teater Abbey, tempat dia menjadi kepala selama tahun-tahun awalnya. Pada tahun 1923 dia dianugerahi penghargaan Nobel Kesusastraan, dan merupakan orang Irlandia pertama yang mendapatkannya.[1]

Yeats merupakan salah satu dari sedikit penulis yang menyelesaikan karya-karya terbesarnya setelah dianugerahi Nobel. Karya-karya terbesarnya termasuk The Tower (1928) dan The Winding Stair and Other Poems (1929).[2]

Selain dikenal sebagai tokoh sastra, mendekati akhir hayatnya Yeats mengabdi sebagai senator di parlemen Irlandia.
