William Henry Edwards (15 Maret 1822 – 4 April 1909) adalah seorang etnomolog berpengaruh di Amerika Serikat.

Kehidupan

Edwards lahir di Hunter, Kabupaten Greene, New York. Ia diingat karena perjalanannya ke Amazon pada 1846, yang ia catat dalam bukunya A Voyage Up the River Amazon, with a residency at Pará[1] (1847), yang menginspirasi Alfred Russel Wallace dan Henry Walter Bates untuk membuat kunjungan terkenal mereka ke wilayah tersebut (dan Bates menulis The Naturalist on the River Amazons). Edwards menerbitkan studi utama pertamanya "The Butterflies of North America" (diselesaikan pada 1897). Ia adalah pengamat Perang Saudara Amerika dan koresponden Darwin.
