Spotfire was launched in mid-1996 by IVEE Development, which was renamed Spotfire Inc.[1]
TIBCO bought the company in 2007 for $190 million.[2][3][4] In November 2011, TIBCO added business intelligence (BI) and analytics software Spotfire 4.0 with Microsoft SharePoint integration.[5]
As of 2018[update], the latest version is Spotfire X.[6][7] Spotfire X incorporates natural language query (NLQ) powered search, AI-driven recommendations, and model-based processing.[8]
Spotfire became a business unit of Cloud Software Group in 2023.[9][10]
