Tönisvorst is a town in the district of Viersen , in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . It is situated approximately 5 km west of Krefeld .
On 25 July 2019 , weather stations in Duisburg -Baerl and Tönisvorst both recorded temperatures of 41.2 °C (106.2 °F), which is the highest temperature to have ever been recorded in Germany.[3]
