Mr. Guye, I think you've misunderstood the template. It isn't supposed to be used without any parameters, which produces the disambiguation links seen in the preview at Template:African topic. Correct use of the template is what you see in e.g. African art#External links. Almost all demonyms are disambiguation pages. Only few terms produced by the correct use this template would be.
