Template talk:Buildings and structures in Manchester, England

Hello,

Just a note that North Tower (Salford) is not in Manchester. Can we look at finding a way to present this? -- perhaps with an asterix or some kind of marker/note? --Jza84 |  Talk  01:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-03-23T01:04:00.000Z","author":"Jza84","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Jza84-2008-03-23T01:04:00.000Z","replies":["c-Nev1-2008-03-23T16:46:00.000Z-Jza84-2008-03-23T01:04:00.000Z"]}}-->

Since the North Tower isn't in Manchester perhaps it doesn't belong on this template? Nev1 (talk) 16:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-03-23T16:46:00.000Z","author":"Nev1","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Nev1-2008-03-23T16:46:00.000Z-Jza84-2008-03-23T01:04:00.000Z","replies":["c-Joshii-2008-04-01T15:26:00.000Z-Nev1-2008-03-23T16:46:00.000Z"]}}-->
It's in Manchester City Centre so no harm in it staying, there are a few non-Manchester buildings on the template but they are almost always referred to as being in Manchester e.g. Manchester's Trafford Centre. We've also got the Trafford Centre and Old Trafford listed here. Same concern as before - do these belong here? If so, can we have an asterix or marker showing they are outside of Manchester? --Jza84 |  Talk  01:45, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-07-17T01:45:00.000Z","author":"Jza84","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-Jza84-2008-07-17T01:45:00.000Z-Joshii-2008-04-01T15:26:00.000Z","replies":["c-Jza84-2010-01-14T22:18:00.000Z-Jza84-2008-07-17T01:45:00.000Z"]}}-->
18 months on..... I'm going to remove the non-Manchester entities. --Jza84 |  Talk  22:18, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-01-14T22:18:00.000Z","author":"Jza84","type":"comment","level":5,"id":"c-Jza84-2010-01-14T22:18:00.000Z-Jza84-2008-07-17T01:45:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->

Sure this is a jest- Manchester had 1800+ warehouses by 1815- there are 94 cotton mills refered to in Williams and Farnie. List of mills in Manchester refers. 6 mills (or groups of mills)have individual articles and many more have substantial information included in the list that merit a link. Loads of work still to do- if you have an idle moment. --ClemRutter (talk) 16:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-10-11T16:51:00.000Z","author":"ClemRutter","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-ClemRutter-2012-10-11T16:51:00.000Z-Mills_and_warehouses","replies":[]}}-->

Lots of red links here in the past 6 months. It is worth pointing out that, in line with WP:REDNOT, "editors who add excessive red links to navboxes are expected to actively work on building those articles, or they may be removed from the template." @ChrisClarke88: as you apparently added all the redlinks, are you hard at work writing lots of articles to fill the gaps? I noticed that in the Religious Grade I and II* listed Buildings section for Manchester the RC Church of St Mary 'Hidden Gem' in Mulberry Street is missing. This was designated Grade II* in 1963 (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1197894) and has had a long wikipedia presence as The Hidden Gem. Please could you add this church to the list of Grade II* churches in the template. 31Emily (talk) 09:58, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20240426095800","author":"31Emily","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-31Emily-20240426095800-Semi-protected_edit_request_on_26_April_2024","replies":["c-DandelionAndBurdock-20240515054000-31Emily-20240426095800"]}}-->
