The 1965 Summer Deaflympics, officially known as the 10th Summer Deaflympics, is an international multi-sport event that was celebrated from June 27 to July 3, 1965, in Washington D.C., United States.[1] This is the first Deaflympics to be hosted outside of Europe, and the first Deaflympics to be hosted in Americas.
The 10th Summer Deaflympics Games were originally scheduled to be held from 11 to 21 December 1964 in Tokyo, but was decided to host it in 1965 due to the schedule of 1964 Summer Olympics. Tokyo would later host the 2025 Summer Deaflympics.
