During a voyage from the Lost River to Nome , Territory of Alaska , the 15-gross register ton motor vessel was wrecked without loss of life during a gale on a shoal approximately 0.5 nautical miles (0.9 km; 0.6 mi) southeast of the mouth of Safety Lagoon (64°29′N 164°45′W / 64.483°N 164.750°W / 64.483; -164.750 (Safety Lagoon ) ) on Alaska′s Norton Sound coast. A motorboat from shore rescued her seven passengers and crew of three. Her gasoline engine later was salvaged , after which her wreck was abandoned in place.[146]
