Meadow Oaks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Pasco County , Florida , United States.[ 5] Located north of Florida State Road 52 inland from Hudson ,[ 6] it is within the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA )[ 7] and the Southwest Florida Water Management District .
The community was first planned in 1983 to include homes and eponymous golf course,[ 8] which was later expanded.[ 9] [ 10] The clubhouse was destroyed by fire in 1995.[ 11] The community continued to grow into the 2000s,[ 12] [ 13] [ 14] partly on land that had once been a cattle ranch, to have eight 'villages'.[ 15]
Meadow Oaks become a CDP (43785)[ 16] in 2010[ 17] and as of the 2010 census its population was 2,442[ 2] It had grown to 2,842 by the 2020 census .[ 1]
Geography
Meadow Oaks is considered an 'inland' or 'landside' Pasco County community.[ 6] [ 18] According to the U.S. Census Bureau , Meadow Oaks CDP has an area of 1.656 square miles (4.29 km2 ); 1.651 square miles (4.28 km2 ) of its area is land, and 0.005 square miles (0.013 km2 ) is water.[ 2] Land-use planning follows the concepts of MPUD zoning.[ 19] [ 20]
Meadow Oaks is within Florida's 12th U.S.congressional district ,[ 21] Florida Senate 16th district , and Florida House District 37.[ 6]
