Alex van Warmerdam, właśc. Alexander Lucas Maria van Warmerdam (ur. 14 sierpnia 1952 w Haarlem) – holenderski reżyser, scenarzysta i aktor filmowy i teatralny, również malarz.
Życiorys
Ukończył studia malarskie na Gerrit Rietveld Academie w Amsterdamie. Był jednym z założycieli grupy teatralnej Hauser Orkater, a w 1980 wspólnie z bratem założył teatr De Mexicaanse Hond (dosł. Meksykański pies). W tym czasie realizował krótkie filmy, pojawiał się również w produkcjach telewizyjnych – jako aktor i scenarzysta.
W długim metrażu debiutował w 1986 komedią Abel. Był reżyserem tego obrazu, napisał scenariusz oraz zagrał tytułową rolę. Także w kolejnych sygnowanych przez siebie autorskich filmach występuje w tych trzech rolach[1].
Żonaty z holenderską aktorką Annet Malherbe, która gra w niemal wszystkich jego filmach. Para ma dwóch synów: Meesa i Houka[2].
