Rozmieszczenie geograficzne

Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Ameryce Południowej – w Wenezueli i Brazylii, być może także w niektórych sąsiednich krajach[3].

Systematyka

Rodzaj Antidythemis wprowadził w 1889 roku angielski entomolog William Forsell Kirby dla nowo opisanego przez siebie gatunku Antidythemis trameiformis[2][4]. Drugi gatunek z tego rodzaju został opisany w 1952 roku[1][4].

Etymologia

Antidythemis: gr. ἀντι- anti- – przedrostek oznaczający „przeciw, przeciwny, naprzeciw, w opozycji, zamiast, w zamian”[5]; rodzaj Dythemis[2].
