Awang Sariyan (ur. 20 października 1953 w Pontian[1][2]) – malezyjski językoznawca.

Życiorys

Kształcił się na Malezyjskim Uniwersytecie Narodowym i Uniwersytecie Malaya. Magisterium z językoznawstwa uzyskał na Uniwersytecie Malaya. Na tej samej uczelni doktoryzował się w zakresie filozofii edukacji językowej[1][2].

Jego dorobek obejmuje dziesiątki książek naukowych, książek popularnych i słowników, setki artykułów w różnych czasopismach i gazetach oraz ponad 100 referatów wygłoszonych na seminariach w kraju i za granicą)[2].

Laureat nagród: Hadiah Persuratan 10 Tahun UKM, Hadiah Penghargaan Dua Dekad UPM, Hadiah Bahasa PLM-Public Bank, Hadiah Tinta Kencana DBP, Anugerah Khidmat Cemerlang DBP. Odznaczony Kesatria Mangku Negara[2].
