Takson utworzył Paul Francis Cannon w 2001 r. Typem nomenklatorycznym jest rodzaj Bolinia (Nitschke) Sacc. 1882[2] Polską nazwę zarekomendowała Komisja ds. Polskiego Nazewnictwa Grzybów przy Polskim Towarzystwie Mykologicznym[3]. Według Index Fungorum bazującego na Dictionary of the Fungi jest to takson monotypowy:
