Charles Elmer "Charlie" Clapp III (ur. 11 stycznia 1959 w Providence) – amerykański wioślarz, srebrny medalista olimpijski i brązowy medalista mistrzostw świata.
Kariera
Wystąpił na igrzyskach olimpijskich w Los Angeles w 1984, gdzie osada USA w składzie: Chip Lubsen, Andrew Sudduth, John Terwilliger, Christopher Penny, Tom Darling, Fred Borchelt, Charles Clapp, Bruce Ibbetson i Bob Jaugstetter (sternik) zdobyła srebrny medal w tej konkurencji. W finale uplasowali się o 0,42 sekundy za osadą Kanady i o 1,66 sekundy przed osadą Australii[1]. Był to jego jedyny start olimpijski.
Zdobył także brązowy medal w ósemkach na mistrzostwach świata w Monachium (1981)[2]. Był też między innymi czwarty w tej konkurencji na mistrzostwach świata w Lucernie (1982), gdzie osada USA przegrała walkę o podium z osadą ZSRR o 1,39 sekundy[3].
Kształcił się na University of Washington. Z zawodu był doradcą finansowym[4].
Jego brat, Gene Clapp, także był wioślarzem[5].
