Chesney Lee Hawkes (ur. 22 września 1971 w Windsorze[1]) – angielski piosenkarz pop, a także aktor.

Życiorys

Urodził się w Windsorze w Berkshire jako syn Carol Dilworth, aktorki i prezenterki, oraz Chipa Hawkesa, wokalisty i basisty rockowej grupy The Tremeloes[2]. Został nazwany na cześć piosenkarza i komika Chesneya Allena okresu II wojny światowej. Dorastał z siostrą Keely i bratem Jodie. Uczęszczał do Charters School w Sunningdale.

Karierę rozpoczął w 1991, gdy zagrał tytułową rolę w filmie Buddy's Song (obok m.in. Rogera Daltreya), z którego pochodzi wkrótce wydany w formie singla jego największy przebój. Jest przykładem artysty jednego przeboju; popularność zdobył piosenką „The One And Only”, skomponowaną przez Nika Kershawa, która utrzymała się przez pięć tygodni na pierwszym miejscu brytyjskiej listy przebojów. Chesney Hawkes nie powtórzył debiutanckiego sukcesu. Zajął się tworzeniem piosenek dla innych artystów, m.in. Tricky.
