Osoba sprawdzająca zdjęcie na ekranie (czyli wykonująca „Chimping”)

Chimping (dosłownie małpienie, spolszczając czympienie) – slangowe określenie oznaczające patrzenie na wyświetlacz aparatu cyfrowego po wykonaniu każdego zdjęcia[1].

Chimping ma złą reputację. Może powodować, że fotograf przegapi, coś co dzieje się przed nim, patrząc w aparat[2].

Geneza określenia

Słowo „chimping” po raz pierwszy opisał Robert Deutsch, fotograf USA Today, we wrześniu 1999 pisząc historię dla newslettera SportsShooter. Jednak nie był on autorem tego zwrotu, tylko gdzieś je usłyszał dzięki poczcie pantoflowej[3][4].
