Claude Roux (ur. 19 października 1945 w Orange) – francuski lichenolog i mykolog, posługujący się językiem esperanto.

Życiorys i praca naukowa

Ukończył Université d’Aix-Marseille. W latach 1969–1975 uczył biologii i geologii w szkole średniej. Od 1975 roku pracował w Laboratorium Botaniki Śródziemnomorskiego Instytutu Ekologii i Paleoekologii CNRS w Marsylii, gdzie badał systematykę, morfologię i rozmnażanie porostów. W 2005 roku przeszedł na emeryturę, ale nadal kontynuuje badania naukowe jako honorowy badacz CNRS[1].

Jest autorem wielu prac naukowych[1]. Był prezesem Francuskiego Instytutu Esperanto. Jest członkiem Międzynarodowej Akademii Nauk San Marino. Jest honorowym prezesem Francuskiego Stowarzyszenia Lichenologicznego (Association Française de Lichénologie)[1].

W nazwach naukowych utworzonych przez niego taksonów dodawany jest skrót jego nazwiska Cl. Roux[2] (zobacz: lista skrótów nazwisk botaników i mykologów). Uczczono go, jego nazwiskiem nazywając rodzaj porostów Claurouxia[3] oraz kilka gatunków porostów.
