Rodzaj Cordierites utworzył Camille Montagne w 1840 r. Gatunkiem typowym jest Cordierites guianensis Mont. 1840[1] Synonim: Phyllomyces Lloyd 1920[2]. Polską nazwę zarekomendowała w 2025 r. Komisja ds. Polskiego Nazewnictwa Grzybów przy Polskim Towarzystwie Mykologicznym[3].
