Dołczan[1] (Stenobothrus) – rodzaj owadów prostoskrzydłych z rodziny szarańczowatych (Acrididae) obejmujący około 50 gatunków o palearktycznym zasięgu występowania.
Takson ten wprowadzony został w 1853 roku przez H.L. Fischera[2]. W 1910 roku W.F. Kirby wyznaczył jego gatunkiem typowym Gryllus lineatus[3].
Owady te są małych lub średnich rozmiarów. Głowę ich cechuje krótkie ciemię, długie i wąskie dołki ciemieniowe oraz czułki pozbawione zgrubień wierzchołkowych. Przedplecze u obu płci z wierzchu szerokie, o bocznych listewkach wygiętych słabo, tak, że odległość między nimi z tyłu wynosi najwyżej półtorakrotność tej z przodu. Narząd bębenkowy częściowo nakryty jest fałdem oskórka. U obu płci występuje aparat strydulacyjny. Pokrywy (tegminy) i tylne skrzydła są dobrze wykształcone, rzadziej skrócone. Tegminy mają prosty przedni brzeg i niezwężone u nasady pole marginalne. Zewnętrzne krawędzie płatów pokładełka mają wyraźny ząb[4].
Rodzaj palearktyczny[5]. Z Polski wykazywano 6 gatunków z tego rodzaju, ale tylko trzy: dołczana wysmukłego, czarnoplamego i deresza zaliczono do polskiej ortopterofauny[4][6]. Występowanie we współczesnych granicach Polski pozostałych trzech gatunków, tzn.: S. crassipes, S. fischeri, S. rubicundulus nie zostało potwierdzone[4].
