Engraulinae – podrodzina ryb śledziokształtnych z rodziny sardelowatych (Engraulidae).
Rozmieszczenie geograficzne
Do podrodziny należą gatunki występujące w wodach przybrzeżnych Oceanu Indyjskiego, Spokojnego i Atlantyckiego, również w Morzu Śródziemnym oraz w słodkich i słonych wodach obszarów ciepłych i umiarkowanych[7].
