Wychowanek Iżstali Iżewsk. Od 2008 roku zawodnik Columbus Blue Jackets. W sierpniu 2011 roku przedłużył kontrakt z klubem o kolejne sześć lat[1]. Od listopada 2012 do stycznia 2013 roku na okres lokautu w sezonie NHL (2012/2013) związany kontraktem z klubem Atłant Mytiszczi[2]. czerwcu 2016 został wolnym zawodnikiem po tym, jak jego kontrakt został wykupiony przez klub[3]. Od lipca 2016 zawodnik Colorado Avalanche, związany rocznym kontraktem[4].
Uczestniczył w turniejach mistrzostw świata w 2008, 2011, 2013 oraz zimowych igrzysk olimpijskich 2006, 2010, 2014.
