Galway Chess Club – irlandzki klub szachowy z siedzibą w Galway.
Historia
Klub istniał już w latach 20. XX wieku[1]. W 1956 roku wystąpił w finale National Club Championship, przegrywając 1½:4½ z Eoghan Ruadh Chess Club. W 2006 roku klub zdobył wicemistrzostwo kraju, kończąc rozgrywki za Kilkenny Chess Club[2]. Również w 2006 roku Galway Chess Club zadebiutował w Pucharze Europy. Zespół przegrał wówczas wszystkie mecze (z SK Hohenems, Obiettivo Risarcimento Padova, CE Monte-Carlo, Nidum Liberals, Belfast Chess Club, Cardiff Chess Club i De Sprénger Echternach) i zajął w klasyfikacji ostatnie, 56. miejsce[3]. W latach 2008–2009, 2011 i 2013 klub zajmował trzecią pozycję w National Club Championship, a w sezonie 2014 zajął drugie miejsce. Galway Chess Club przegrał wówczas z mistrzowskim Adare Chess Club o pół punktu w klasyfikacji małych punktów[2]. W 2023 roku zespół po raz drugi rywalizował w Pucharze Europy, ponownie zajmując ostatnie (84.) miejsce po siedmiu porażkach (z SF Wirtzfeld, KWV Wetteren, Gonzaga Chess Club, SK Weilheim, St Benildus Chess Club, SV Mülheim-Nord i Lazio Scacchi)[4]. Rok później klub zdobył wicemistrzostwo National Club Championship, za Elm Mount Chess Club[5].
