Rodzaj Godronia utworzyli Jean Baptiste Mougeot i Joseph Henri Léveillé w 1846 r. Gatunkiem typowym jest Godronia muehlenbeckii Moug. & Lév. 1846[1]. Synonimy: Cenangiella Lambotte, Cenangium trib. Scleroderris Fr., Crumenula De Not., Scleroderris (Fr.) Bonord[2].
